10 BEST FASHION MUSEUMS IN EUROPE

Hello Hello everyone!

I welcome you to our first article, which is about FASHION, of course, and some of the greatest Fashion museums in Europe. Get ready and let us know in the comments if you have been to any of those or if you are planning to!

1. Balenciaga Museum—Getaria, Spain

Altough Balenciaga had his biggest career successes in Paris, his museum is located in Spain as it where he is from. I personally loooove his work, creating big volume in dresses but also paying attention to detail. Cristóbal Balenciaga was a master couturier and I recomend this museum to all his lovers.

2. Museum of Fine Arts and Lace (Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle)— Alençon, France

France, lace, what a perfect duo. This is for all the romantics, embriodery lovers, or just beauty lovers in general. I mean... the building itself is MAGNIFICENT.

3. Ferragamo Museo—Florence, Italy

Any shoes lovers here? I am sure there are.

Why is it everytime that I am outside of Florence that I find amazing spots to see in Florence... Great museum anyway, reason for another trip.

4. Museo del Tessuto di Prato- Prato, Italy

This museum is more for textile lovers than fashion in general. But it goes hand in hand, and Prato is very close to Florence, also a cute city itself, so I would definitely recomend. There is a GREAT shop for books about fashion as well so do not get tricked by the not-so-fashion-looking building. There is also a spot where you can touch different type of fabric and yarns in different stages of process of fabric creation. Very cool

5. Gucci Museum—Florence

If it was not for Ferragamo Museo, I am booking the ticket to Florence for the Gucci museum right NOW.

6. Victoria and Albert Museum—London

I suppose everyone interested in fashion has heard, read or just felt something about the fashion collection they have in the Victoria and Albert Museum museum in London. A must. They also make workshops, which you should keep your eye on and have an amazing online exhibitions.

7. Christian Dior Museum and Garden—Granville, France

The house where Christian Dior was born is now a museum where you can look at some of his iconic looks and rest in the lovely garden afterwards. Fun fact, did you know that Christian Dior was very superstitious and would ask his fortune teller about his future?

8. Palazzo Fortuny–Venice

There is a lot of Italy and France in this list... for obvious reasons. Little to know about Mariano Fortuny, altough he was an amazing fashion designer, he was a great inventor as well. He would designs set for theatre, inovate light sources for theatre and was also very skilled in graphics.

9. Fashion Museum—Bath, England

This incredible collection of historic fashion  in this museum is definitely worth a mention.

10. National Museum of Costume & Fashion (Museu Nacional do Traje e da Moda)- Lisbon Portugal

Last but not least is this beautiful Museu Nacional do Traje e da Moda in Lisbon. This may be the one I am looking forward to see the most, as I cannot wait to see Lisbon. The museum is located in a stunning building and has a broad variety of magnifique fashion pieces.
